Singer Jake Zyrus on Friday held his first concert since revealing his new identity, and his fans were in for a pleasant surprise.

During his "I am Jake Zyrus" concert at the Music Museum, the 25-year-old transgender artist had a duet with his former identity, Charice Pempengco.

A recorded version of Pempengco's "Before It Explodes" played onstage while Zyrus, despite having a lower vocal range, belted out live.

"To be honest, ito yung dream concert ko (this is my dream concert)," Zyrus said.

Other local artists who including Erik Santos, KZ Tandingan, and Young JV, also performed at the concert.

Santos, who performed several duets with Zyrus, had high praises for the singer.

"Ang ganda talaga ng boses niya, and for me, world-class talaga siya," Santos said.

Zyrus - who gained popularity in 2005 as Charice - first opened up about his sexuality in 2013, when he revealed he was a lesbian.

In 2014, he debuted a new look, donning a shorter blonde cut and tattoos.

Since then, the singer has clarified in interviews that he identifies as a man, even landing himself on the cover of magazine Mega Man's 2016 pride month issue.

Zyrus revealed his new identity on social media on June 20.
